Chef Leon earned his diploma in culinary arts at the College of the Ministry of Trade in Moldova. In spite of his previous experience, he had to start over when arrived in St. Louis. He knew no English but did not let that stop him from reaching his goals.
Before joining the culinary staff at The Saint Louis Woman's Club, he worked in many kitchens in St. Louis including the European Cafe and Sportsman's Park.
At the Club he served for several years as sous chef under Chef Manfred Zettl who was our award winning Executive Chef.
Chef Leon continued his education and achieved the status of Certified Chef de Cuisine. We are very fortunate to have him preparing wonderful meals for all of our events.
Chef Leon enjoys the challenge of working in an environment where every event is a new chance to create a specific and unique menu. He begins with the topic or theme of a speaker, luncheon, or dinner. He then spends extensive time researching world cuisines and developing specialized menus to complement the event.
He regards a wedding or special party as an opportunity to exceed the expectations of the bride and groom or the group. From hors d' oeuvres to dessert each aspect of the food is artistically presented and delightfully delicious!
